A Walk on the Clouds

The Wolf Centre
The wolf centre is an all indoor facility that helps educate people about the local wolf population. Wolves can be observed through one way glass.

Abbey Gardens
Nestled on 300 acres of land, Abby Gardens is a community hub that is great for families alike. People can enjoy walking on trails, interacting with the gardens, and even meeting rare Ojibwe horses. You can also visit during an event or take a workshop. Overall, its a great experience in the Haliburton Highlands.

Sir Sam's (Spring, Summer and Fall)
Sir Sam's is well known for it's skiing in winter, but it also has amazing trails during the spring, summer and fall! With 23 km of trails, it's ideal for hiking and biking in the warmer months. They also have scenic/bike chairlifts to observe all the beauty Eagle Lake has to offer. Their website has their fees for day passes and bike rentals.

Sir Sam's (Winter)
Sir Sam's is famous for it's ski hills, and its only a 6 minute drive from our cottage! You can rent skis and snowboards or bring your own. They also have a restaurant to warm up with a cup of hot chocolate. If you aren't into skiing, they offer snowshoeing and snow mobile rides! It's a great place for the family in the colder months.

Golf Clubs Nearby
If you enjoy golfing, we have several golf courses nearby to choose from. If you take the 118 to our place, you'll pass the Lakeside Golf Club. It's right beside Abbey Gardens, so you could get some lunch after a round of golf. The Haliburton Highlands Golf Course is a set between Haliburton and Minden and has a great view of Kashagawigamog Lake. And in Minden, you can find the Blairhampton Golf Club. It's a great location if half your party wants to golf and the other half wants to check out town.
Carnarvon Family Golf
Carnarvon Family Golf has something for everyone!
They have a fun and creative mini golf course the whole family can enjoy, along with a driving range.
They also have a par 3 golf course that has 9 holes and can be completed in under 90 minutes. You can even arrange to have your own small golf tournament if you schedule ahead of time.
